“The Amber and Fashion Gala” has been accompanying the “Amberif” International Fair of Amber, Jewellery and Gemstones since the event’s inception. Its form, however, underwent significant changes over all these years to assume eventually its present incarnation. The fact that for several years now the Gala has been one of the most important points of “Amberif’s” framework programme is testament to its standing.

A creative union of two artists from St Petersburg – Natalija Kilchickaja and Anton Volkov – belongs to the generation of young jewellers who are presently contributing to the shaping of new tendencies in this type of arts and crafts. The characteristic feature of their works is that they depart from the concrete pictorial expressions and that they the drive to convey the image through artistically expressed forms and colours. An important role in the jewellery compositions plays the interconnection of the space, Man, plasticity, and movement of his body.

The 7 fashion week in Riga which embellished the Riga podium from 30 October to 4 November is now over. Riga residents and guests had an opportunity to watch prêt-à-porter collection shows for spring and summer 2008 in the official hall Riga Fashion Week at Riga University of Technology and in the art gallery PUTTI, 8 Lounge and in the Old Town in a building in Audeju 12.

Anyone in the world knows how beautiful Scythian jewellery is. There is but little information about clothing of ancient Scythians. The visitors of the December exhibition Peterburgsky Yuvelir had a chance to see costumes and dresses of Scythian queens and Don Amazons. The exhibition accommodated shows of three collections by the Rostov artist Lidia Stadnichenko – Tanais, Hermes and Krug Narodov Dona (Circle of the River Don Peoples).
